With the rapid progress in its journey from a developing nation towards a developed one, India, although has made fastest progress in the world in addressing its environmental issues and improving its environmental quality post 1995. However, it has a long way to go in addressing the environmental issues that are a primary cause of disease, health issues and long term livelihood impact for India.

Major environmental issues are forest and agricultural degradation of land, resource depletion (water, mineral, forest, sand, rocks etc.), environmental degradation, public health, loss of biodiversity, loss of resilience in ecosystems, livelihood security for the poor.

United Way Delhi is initiating partnerships with corporate citizens and conscious Samaritans to spread the environmental concerns and possible mechanisms to control the various forms of pollution that adversely impact the environment.
